The Liaison psychiatry team are now ready to complete the recruitment of experienced Band 6’s to the new team and are keen to recruit to our vacancies in Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital.

The Psychiatric Liaison team  work as a single point of access for referrals and provides a range of mental health specialties within one multidisciplinary team to patients aged 18 years and over. Our teams respond to a diverse range of referrals covering both the Liaison and Emergency assessment.

You will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, be able to work in potentially high pressure environments, whilst maintaining the ability to remain calm and professional. You must be confident in your assessment skills and have the ability to make autonomous decisions within a multi-disciplinary team where support and advice will always be available.

You must be keen to develop relationships with all grades of staff within the general hospital site, and have a vision for developing the service to ensure that you are visible, approachable and reactive to patients in mental health crisis, or those needing assessment on the general wards.

Experience in risk assessment, and in adult or older persons acute mental health is essential.
